Argüden Governance Academy has developed Good Governance of Urban Reconstructions in Türkiye Project for the improvement and reconstruction of eleven cities affected by the February 6th earthquake, based on a culture of good governance.

With the Project, our goal is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of post-disaster reconstruction processes and to build resilient cities by increasing citizen confidence, satisfaction, and participation levels. In this regard, the project supports a more comprehensive, cohesive, coordinated, and effective reconstruction process through better civil monitoring, evaluation, and participation.

To increase civil monitoring and participation, the Guide, centered on citizens and civil society, to be produced at the end of the project, is based on legislation, policies, and plans. The Guide, which facilitates monitoring through its indicator-based approach, is directly linked to data sharing levels and quality for this purpose; it allows mapping, measurement, and evaluation. It serves as a guide for monitoring and participation in environmental and infrastructure, economic, societal, and governance dimensions, and also enables the identification of short-term, medium-term, and long-term effects. The aim is for all NGOs and citizens to use the tools used to measure governance quality after disasters through an online platform and website.

Through the project, we aim to strengthen civil monitoring, evaluation, and participation processes for more holistic, inclusive, and effective use of resources in every sector (public, private, civil society).
